Here are some photos from my brief stopover in Sharjah on the way to Aleppo (Syria)

 

The Emirate of Sharjah is located about 10 kilometers from Dubai. Living here is a lot cheaper then living in Dubai, so many workers choose to commute leading to enormous traffic jams.

Here is a place where foreign workers sleep. Many workers come to the Gulf from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh to work at very low wages.
